A personal journey!
For over twenty years, I’ve studied and treated pain, stress, and trauma. I’ve helped people overcome the shapes, patterns and conditions they developed to cope with their intense life experiences.
I am often asked how can I work in this helping field without burning out or feeling depressed. It is because ‘it is a deeply sustaining and uplifting experience to witness one’s transformation as they move from their debilitating conditions back to vibrant health; and are more fully engaged in their lives.’
I am often asked what drew me to this work. Let me begin by telling you a little about myself. A rollover accident I experienced in the early 70s left me with a sense that things were not quite right in my body. Although imaging at the time showed no broken bones, and there was no bleeding, I began to feel increasingly helpless to my unexplained symptoms.
Ten years passed, and with it, constant pain and pressure in my head and hips. Not only did it affect my ability to work and play, but it also affected me emotionally. Needless to say, it affected my whole family.
I tried many different treatment approaches with hopes that I might find a solution to ease my constant discomfort. I came across Craniosacral Therapy in the early 80’s. Almost immediately, I experienced improved health. During the course of my first treatment, I could feel my body shifting and releasing and the pain easing. After just a few more treatments I finally felt ‘I had my life back.’
I didn’t know how, nor could I explain to others what had happened during these treatments. However, my desire to understand has kindled a path of education and motivated me to help others experience the profound benefits of Cranialsacral Therapy.
